Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Main Stage

Many cities aim to turn their central station into a driving force for urban life, mobility and economic development. In Stockholm, there are plans to develop the station and the surrounding area to create a new gateway to the capital under the name Centralstaden. In this programme session, we take a closer look at the project’s short-term progress. From a longer-term perspective, we will also explore how the station can be better integrated with the city and how to create a lively urban environment around it. Additionally, it will provide an exciting comparison with the internationally noted and well-regarded transformation of London King’s Cross railway station and the surrounding area.
