Understanding the Economics of Nature

torsdag 3 december 2026, 09:45 - 10:00

Pavan Sukhdev is one of the world’s leading experts on the economics of biodiversity and nature. An economist and environmentalist, he has played a pivotal role in bringing the economic value of nature and the risks of biodiversity loss into the global business and policy agenda. He led the landmark TEEB (The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity) study and has worked extensively at the intersection of nature, finance and sustainable development.

In this keynote, Pavan Sukhdev will explore how biodiversity loss is becoming a systemic business risk – affecting supply chains, natural resource availability and financial stability. He will share insights into how companies, executive teams and boards can understand and value their dependencies and impacts on nature, and why nature loss increasingly needs to be treated as a strategic business issue rather than an environmental one.
