Housing for low-income earners – how do other countries do it?

The phenomenon of social housing has been discussed in Sweden since the 1990s - at least. The main reason it has not become a reality is the Swedish tradition of public housing and resistance to creating a system that could lead to stigmatization or segregation. At the same time, the social challenges have not diminished over the past decade. Here, we look outward and draw on knowledge from other countries to explore how low-income households can be given the opportunity to have a home of their own.
