Securing Energy Supply Through Diversification and Efficiency

How can we strengthen energy security in an increasingly uncertain world?

This session explores how diversifying energy sources and supply routes, combined with greater end-to-end energy efficiency, can build a more resilient and sustainable energy system.

We will look at how countries can reduce dependence on individual energy sources and transport corridors by developing a more diversified mix of pipelines, LNG routes, interconnectors and alternative supply pathways. The discussion will also address how robust regulatory frameworks and clear policy can support energy security and enable long-term investment.

From production and transport to final consumption, energy efficiency, digitalisation and smart technologies are becoming increasingly important to optimise energy use, strengthen resilience and reduce system-wide costs.

Key themes:
• Diversification of energy sources and supply routes
• Energy security and resilience
• Regulatory frameworks and investment
• End-to-end energy efficiency
• Smart grids, digitalisation and new technologies
• Building a more sustainable and reliable energy system
